Purchasing Agent

Loren Cook Company is currently seeking a Purchasing Agent. In this role, you will be responsible for quotation activities, selecting qualified suppliers, establish relationships with existing and new suppliers, meet material specifications, maintain production requirements, and negotiate pricing. As a Purchasing Agent, you will interface with all departments across Loren Cook Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Procurement of assigned material for production needs
  • Utilize short and long term planning/strategy
  • Review of technical specifications for materials requirements
  • Evaluate current suppliers and their capabilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers
  • Conduct the negotiation process to obtain the best price by utilizing competition from multiple suppliers as well as current market data
  • Placing/tracking/monitoring purchase orders
  • Ensure procurement process meet ISO requirements
Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 3+ years working in the supply chain
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of purchasing: supplier base management, contract negotiation and cost-out initiatives preferred
  • Strong technical background preferred
  • Must be able to work in a rapid-paced changing environment
  • Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and customer service
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • AS400 experience preferred

Order Entry Specialist

We are seeking an Order Entry Specialist to analyze, enter and check orders for an extensive product line. This person will also communicate by phone with sales representatives and in person with other office staff. Requirements include data entry accuracy and speed. Good customer relations skills are a must. Preferred candidate will have previous experience in a professional work environment and a history of stable employment.

Application Engineer

Loren Cook is looking for an Engineer that will be responsible for the design and quoting of custom air moving equipment that meets specific customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Generate engineering quotes for special customer requests.
  • Create special designs or modify standard designs to satisfy specific customer requests.
  • Deliver special product support to manufacturing, customer service, and purchasing to ensure delivery schedule and product quality is maintained.
  • Provide customer support including phone support and plant visits.
  • Visit customer sites as required to trouble shoot field application and installation issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science – Mechanical or related Engineering field
3-5 years’ experience preferred
Experience with sheet metal design and manufacturing

Engineering Intern

Duties include creating 2D and 3D CAD drawings under the guidance of our Design Engineers, assisting with product testing in our lab, distribution of drawings to the shop floor as well as other engineering projects as needed.

This is a great opportunity to gain work experience in our newly remodeled Engineering, Research & Development facility and interact with our engineers, designers and technicians in an innovative, technical environment.

Preferred candidate will have basic knowledge of CAD, good organizational and communication skills, a willingness to learn and be available for approximately 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible based on class schedule .

Customer Service Representative / Application Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking a customer service oriented individual with a strong mechanical/electrical background to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of service in our industry. Internal duties include communicating with Sales on the status of orders, with Engineering and Production on meeting product specifications and revisions, and production control to ensure that orders are delivered on schedule. This position is the primary contact for our manufacturer's representatives to assist in interpreting specifications and cross referencing other manufacturer's products to develop job quotes and the administration of orders after they are entered into production.

Requirements
Experience in engineering or industrial technology is preferred, but a comparable background with HVAC experience would be considered with experience in motor controls and building management systems. Must be detail oriented with excellent communication and problem solving skills.

Administrative Assistant

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant for our Purchasing department. This position will perform a variety of clerical duties including processing invoices, entering inventories, document scanning, delivering documentation to production departments, and general clerical duties as assigned. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to multi-task. Previous experience in a professional office environment is preferred. Qualified candidate must be detail oriented, accurate, computer literate, and able to lift up to 30 lbs.

2nd Shift Assemblers and Welders

Must be proficient with tape measures and hand and power tools. Ability to read blueprints is required. Welders must pass a basic mig weld test. Starting pay $16.95 to $17.95 with guaranteed increases. Second shift hours are 4:00 pm to 12:30 am. Mon-Fri.

Production Supervisors

We are accepting applications for supervisors experienced in a manufacturing environment. Competitive salary based on experience. Sheet metal fabrication and/or assembly experience is required. Must be goal oriented with good communication, problem solving, and decision making skills.
